NETWORKS

HASTAC (Humanities, Arts, Science, and Technology Advanced Collaboratory): Network of individuals and institutions inspired by the possibilities that new technologies offer us for shaping how we learn, teach, communicate, create, and organize our local and global communities.

MediaCommons: Community network for scholars, students, and practitioners in media studies, promoting exploration of new forms of publishing within the field.

Centers

NEH ODH (Office of Digital Humanities): Supports projects that employ digital technology to improve humanities research, education, preservation, access, and public programming. To that end, ODH works with the scholarly community, and with other funding agencies in the United States and abroad, to encourage collaboration across national and disciplinary boundaries.

UCHRI (University of California Humanities Research Institute): Based on the UC Irvine campus, UCHRI serves all ten campuses in the UC system, interacting with UC campus humanities centers, other campus research centers, and with individual faculty to promote collaborative, interdisciplinary humanities research and pedagogy throughout the University of California system and within the larger communities they inhabit.

UCI Humanities Collection: The primary mission of the UCI Humanities Collective is to support School of Humanities faculty and graduate student research. The Collective also seeks to connect that research to public life.

UCLA Center for Digital Humanities: Helps interpret the cultural and social impact of new media and information technologies—the fundamental components of the new information age—as well as creates and applies these technologies to answer cultural, social, historical, and philological questions, both those traditionally conceived and those only enabled by new technologies.

UCLA IDRE (Institute for Digital Research and Education): The IDRE mission is to support, advance and guide a campus-wide program to position UCLA as a world leader in research and education in computational thinking, using high performance computation, data visualization and data analysis of large data sets and databases.

UCLA Experiential Technologies Center (ETC): Collaborative, interdisciplinary center that promotes experiential research in the digital age.

USC Center for Transformative Scholarship (CTS): Facilitates, explores, tests, and advances new media and networked scholarship for scholarly research, analysis, and publication.

USC School of Cinematic Arts Institute for Multimedia Literacy (IML): Organized research unit dedicated to developing educational programs and conducting research on the changing nature of literacy in a networked culture.
